Hello, Hello! We had an AWESOME Chapel Time yesterday, 9/27. We read The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein (below you can view a video of the book, courtesy of You Tube) and talked about what it means to everyone to be a good friend. Here are some of the things we shared: Being a Good Friend Means... *Playing with them everyday *Being a good listener *Sharing~"Show you care and share" *When you have a friend over to play, let them choose what you're going to play first. *Helping We didn't have time to sing any songs today, but we did talk about our website and the kids were asked to go home this week and think of a question they'd like to turn in to Pastor David for the Ask the Pastor section of our site. All in all, it was another GREAT Sunday School! We had 22 kiddos in attendance, a little down from last week, so we hope to see you there and bring a friend!! love and blessings on your week, Becca

We had our 2nd day of Sunday School today, with 31 kiddos in attendance again! Sunday started off rainy & dreary, so it was awesome to see the numbers stay strong! Our tree is really filling out after only 2 Sundays...Imagine the forest we will have by the end of the year!
Rainy, greyness aside, the kids really got the day going with some SERIOUS movin' 'n' groovin' during chapel time. We got warmed up with some This Little Light of Mine and finished up with Father Abraham and a BIG finish with L-E-T-'S G-O courtesy of this past Vacation Bible School. What beautiful singers & dancers we have! Abigail M. & Beau D. celebrated birthdays over the past week. This week, we talked about trust-having trust in God even though we can't see him, we know he's there. Trust is an important part of all of our lives, in how important it is to earn and keep our trust with our parents, teachers, and friends. The Bible Bucks Store opened it's doors for the 1st time this Sunday School season. Bucks were spent, Bucks were saved...Look for new things in the coming weeks! Finally, Bible Detectives was kicked off this Sunday as well. This is a great opportunity to earn more Bible Bucks & to become more familiar with your bible-learning how to find things & learning the stories of the Bible. We're looking forward to seeing all of your beautiful, smiling faces in the coming weeks! See you next week & bring a friend!! Love and Blessings on your week, Becca We had our first day of Sunday School today & it was AWESOME!! We had 31 kiddos join us today and one birthday to start us off. Happy birthday to Cameron K.!
During chapel time the kiddos made handprints for our attendance/prayer tree. Austin A. accompanied our singing efforts on the piano. Snacks were had, songs were sung, hands were hung, Bible Bucks were earned, and off to classes we went! My goal is to get 50 kiddos attending Sunday School this year, so I hope to see you there and BRING A FRIEND!!! See you next week! (We'll be starting Bible Detectives AND The Bible Bucks Store will open for the 1st time of the season)! Love & Blessings on your week, Becca Sunday School returns on 9/13/09 @ 9:30a.m. The teachers have lots of fun things planned for the coming year. Just a heads up, each Sunday, as you arrive at Sunday school, you will put up a leaf with your name & the date on a leaf, which you will add to our prayer tree hanging in the chapel. Also, if you have a prayer resting on your heart for the week, we encourage you to take a laminated apple, write your prayer on the apple, & attach that to the tree as well. This tree will be a great way for us to watch as our attendance grows & for you to see the various prayer needs of your peers, not to mention growing your daily prayers to include those of others. Prayer is an ongoing conversation with God & nothing is too trivial (unimportant).
I'm so excited to be working with you kids in this new role! I hope you'll feel comfortable coming to me with any suggestions or ideas you might have for our Sunday School. And hey, bring a friend, help spread the Word! See you Sunday, Becca |
