Today during Chapel Time today we talked about the promise God made to Noah after the floods. Specifically, we read:
~ Genesis 9:11-15 ~ I solemnly promise never to send another flood to kill all living creatures. I have placed my rainbow in the clouds. It is the sign of my permanent promise to you and to all the earth. When I send clouds over the earth, the rainbow will be seen in the clouds, and I will remember my covenant with you and everything that lives. Never again will there be a flood that will destroy life. Now the awesomely wonderful thing about this passage in the Bible is that we can know every time that we see a rainbow, that's God...Talking to us. It definitely gave me a "wow" moment when I recently read this early in this most recent Lenten season. So tonight when I not only saw a single rainbow, but a double rainbow...I felt inexplicably close to God in that moment. Next time you see a rainbow, stop and appreciate the promise God made to Noah so long ago, which still stands for us today!
