On Sunday, March 9, 2014 the kids kicked off the Lenten season with our annual Praying Arm Pretzel Chapel Time activity. It continues to be a fan favorite for everyone from our littlest little, to our biggest big!
We had many more pictures, but unfortunately the camera's SD card was in the midst of an epic fail, but at least we came away with four to share!
We welcomed two buddies this Sunday morning - hope to see you again!
Following is the prayer we pray together before putting the pretzels in the ovens and dispersing to our classrooms:
Gracious God, we ask you to bless these pretzels that we have prepared. Thank you for each of the hands that created them. Each time we eat pretzels this season may we be reminded that Lent is a time for prayer. Help us to remember to pray each day. We pray in Jesus' name. Amen.
And in case you've misplaced the easy-peasy recipe for creating your own pretzels at home, here it is:

With the Lenten season upon us, it can only mean one thing: Praying Arm Pretzel Sunday!!! Definitely a fan favorite of the kids.
We were meant to make our pretzels last Sunday, March 2, only to have the epic fail of the dough not rising. Fortunately we had already been planning a 'do-over Sunday' because the weather was horrible last week. HORRIBLE! We actually had a not too shabby crowd - parents/grandparents...You rock!
So, be sure to let the kiddos know that this Sunday, March 9, 2014, is Praying Arm Pretzel Sunday. We're hoping and praying for cooperative dough and oodles of kids for this special Sunday!
Other things to be aware of...
We look forward to seeing you; bring a friend!
