It's hard to believe we are already less than a week away from the Fall Carnival, but here it is! Let me give you a run down of the when's, where's, and what's just one more time:
When: Saturday, October 30, 2010 from 11:00 - 2:00 p.m. Where: Laurel United Methodist Church Basement Cost: There will be NO ADMISSIONS FEES, but tickets to play games will cost 25 cents a piece. **Please note, if you bring any number of canned food items, you will receive 3 tickets free! Food: There will be concessions available: Hot dogs, chili dogs, chips, cookies, soda, and popcorn. We will also be offering a "meal deal." Costumes are welcome! Games/Activities: If you'd like a sneak peek at what types of games will be offered at the Carnival, head on over to the Fall Carnival page at the church's website. The cans we're collecting at the Fall Carnival will be the kickoff for the Sunday School's Service Project this Fall. We will be collecting cans from 10/30 to 11/21. *Remember, if you plan to go out in the community to collect cans, you will need to get the okay from your parents first.* October 31, 2010 - You are invited to wear your costumes to Sunday School again this year as you did last year. We will be holding a contest again to vote on the Most Original, Cutest, Funnies, Best All Around...Please bring a friend and share in the fun and fellowship! I know it's not much fun to get up early on the weekend, but I look forward to seeing each of you every Sunday! Much love and blessings on your week, Becca

This past Sunday (the 17th), the Junior High class decided on a service project they'd like to do as a part of a lesson. The project they chose is able to extend to all the Sunday School classes. So what is it, you ask?
We will be collecting canned food items to donate to Community Hope. The kickoff for this project will be at the Fall Carnival on October 30th. Each class will again collect canned food items (as we did earlier in the year) until the Sunday before Thanksgiving. This information is so fresh, I haven't even had the chance to tell the other classes yet, but start thinking now what you can do to help your class collect the most cans. If heading out to the community and going door-to-door to collect cans sounds like something you'd like to do - remember you'll need your parents' permission and it's important that you not go out by yourself. I'll be sending information home with you next Sunday and we'll talk more about this during Chapel Time. As always, it was great to see all your beautiful faces! Remember, even though we no longer have the "Bible Bucks" store, bringing a friend automatically equals a trip to what once was the Bible Buck Store (if that makes any sense). I hope you have a wonderfully blessed week! Becca As I write this, I am very aware that we are less than two weeks away from our Fall Carnival! I am so super excited about this event and hope you, your family, and friends will come out to see us on Saturday, October 30th.
