Tomorrow, Easter Sunday, marks the end of the Lenten season. For Lent I gave up soda and made a goal to deepen my relationship with God. I'll admit, early in Lent I spent a great deal of time in my Bible; I'm bummed to tell you this lessened as the days went by, but I am glad to report that I spent even more time in prayer throughout this Lenten season.
While giving up soda seems to be my "go to" thing when it comes to choosing what to give up for Lent, this, quite possibly was the hardest out of all the times I've given soda up. Which is the point, it's not supposed to be easy-it's meant to remind us of the HUGE sacrifice both God and Jesus made for each of us so many years ago. I'll be honest with you, this sacrifice didn't impact me (hit me as hard) as a child as it does now that I'm a grown up. I hope, though, for those of you kiddos who gave something this year-possibly for the first time-were able to start getting an idea of how amazing God truly is and how with Him anything is possible. He gave up His son for each of us so that one day we might walk with Him in heaven. How amazingly awesome is that?! So my final thought for you as this Lenten season is coming to a close: Continue to grow with God and remember His unfailing love for you in all your challenges. Much love & blessings on this special weekend, Becca
