Sunday, 10/25 was filled with loads of fun, not to mention some pretty fabulous costumes! The kids came dressed as animals: Lions & Elephants; a couple of super cute pumpkins; Ninjas, of the teenage mutant ninja turtle variety AND a human ninja; we had some Harry Potter characters-Harry Potter & Hermione; a ladybug; some beautiful princesses & queens-one who was actually a Musketeer in disguise; a 50's inspired ensemble was a part of our beautiful mix; along with some firefighters & a S.W.A.T. member; a ghost; the best clown I've ever seen; and rounded out by a visit from none other than Lightning McQueen. Stay tuned this week for a sneak peak of the results from our voting. Categories included: Most Original, Funniest, Cutest, and Best all Around. A special thanks to Paul & Sandy Thomae for making caramel corn for all our special kiddos! During Chapel Time Libby Erb was kind enough to carve our pumpkin for us. Below is the prayer/poem we followed as we carved it-extra Bible Bucks were earned for those who could remember what everything stood for. Loads of fun was had, hope to see you next week! Love & Blessings on your week, Becca A prayer to carve your pumpkin by: Dear Jesus, as I carve my pumpkin help me pray this prayer: U Open my mind so I can learn about You; (Cut the top off the pumpkin) U Take all my sin and forgive all the wrong that I do.(Clean out the inside). U Open my eyes so Your love I will see; (Cut eyes shaped like hearts) U I’m sorry for times I’ve turned up my nose at what you've given to me; (Cut a nose in the shape of the cross). U Open my ears so Your Word I will hear; (Cut ears shaped like bibles). U Open my mouth to tell others You’re near. (Cut the mouth in the shape of a fish). U Let Your light shine in all I say and do! Amen. (Place a candle inside and light it).
